We are a small practice serving the local community from our surgery on Babylon Lane, set amongst the neat rows of stone-clad terraces that largely define the vernacular style of the area which, even with the M61 lying not too far to the east, still retains a leafy, bucolic character.

Ours is a single-handed practice, and our incumbent general practitioner is Dr Neamat Nawrooz. She is ably assisted by our practice nurse, Rebecca Wright.

My name is Jane Harrison and I am the practice manager, looking after all the day-to-day administration and generally making sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible. In that task I am assisted by our two friendly receptionists, Michaela Joyce and Tracey Huyton. They are usually the first people you will come into contact with at the practice and have been trained to deal with all enquiries sympathetically and discreetly.

We are supported by a local team of district nurses who provide nursing care to patients in their own homes.

We all work together as a close-knit team and try to be as committed and as helpful as we can in our joint mission: to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. We believe that we have the professional knowledge and expertise necessary to look after all our patients, be they elderly, the disabled, the chronically ill, new mothers, children and babies.

We have been established for around 20 years, so our small corner premises are a familiar fixture in the village. There is adequate parking immediately nearby for those who arrive by car and we have a permanent ramp at the front for wheelchair users.

On this website you will find details about the various services we provide and how to access them. You will also notice that there are links to other health-orientated websites which contain a wealth of information and advice of all kinds.

Of course, good healthcare is not only about treating illness. By adopting a healthy lifestyle, which includes a modicum of exercise and sensible nutrition, there is much that patients themselves can do to minimise the risk of contracting illness at any stage in life. Nurse Rebecca can give lots of excellent advice on these matters.

So whether you are currently a patient of ours or thinking of registering with the practice, you should find here all the information on primary healthcare in this area that you are likely to need. Even so, if there is any aspect of the practice’s function that you perhaps don’t fully understand, or there is something that is troubling you, do pick up the phone and give me a call. Our telephone line is open from 8.30am until 6.30pm Monday to Friday. You will always find a listening ear and someone to share your thoughts and concerns with. After all, that’s what I’m here for!

Once again, welcome to our website which we are sure you will find easily navigable and most useful.
